Ameenah's Rogues' Gallery - some of the places we have danced this year

The Harem Room. This is the main classroom of the school.

Classroom B. This is where the audio/visual and library are housed. This classroom is used for yoga and meditation classes along with dance classes.

Not too impressive from the outside but the first thing you see when you enter is the Treasures of the Nile Bazaar. The bazaar has something for every belly dancer from costuming, jewlry, or things you may even wear out for an evening on the town.
Visions of the Nile, Akron's original
belly dance school and bazaar, is proud of the reputation we have made for
quality and dependable instruction. We are currently in our fourth great year
in the same location and offer a variety of benefits:
Classes for all levels of belly dancer. Beginning , intermediate, and
advanced adult and children's belly dance classes; private and semi-private
lessons; specialty classes such as tribal/gypsy, zills, candle and sword balancing,
spritiuality in belly dance and Polynesian dance; specialty seminars that
are taught by guest instructors from around the country are held on a regular
basis. To dance and socialize with other dancers, there are haflas (parties).
We also offer special group lessons for bachelorette parties, girls night
out, showers, weddings, club,
social group functions, lunchtimes or evenings.
Treasures of the Nile is the retail outlet for everything the belly dancer could possibly need, plus a few other items. Hours are by appointment.
Visions of the Nile has three dance troupes
Dawn of Khamsa is comprised of the three senior members of the school. They are available for civic and social functions.
Bahirah Jawahir is comprised mostly of students in the school. They have performed for the Akron Arts Expo, American Cancer Society, Cuyahoga Falls Arts Expo, Roswell Celtic Medieval Faire, and Cuyahoga Falls Library. They are available for civic and social functions.
Jewels of the Nile are the children's troupe and also perform for civic and social functions.
Wellness Center - We believe mind and body go together. What better way to put them together than with yoga and meditative dance. We currently have a yoga class, a reiki practioner, and certified hypnotherapist (to help with those bad habits), cardio belly dance (to help loose those holiday pounds), meditation and meditative dance (to help with stress), and a masotherapist.Queen of the Nile Education Series; instructional videos, choreographic videos, show footage, and movement notebooks explaining many of the basic moves plus many interesting articles gathered from various sources regarding belly dancing.
Others have tried to imitate us, but the quality and integrity of our school and staff can never be duplicated. So don't be fooled by cheap imitations and fly-by-night's, come discover Akron's hidden oasis and see what we can offer you.
